Summary

We are recruiting a Generator Technician to join a growing power generation team in Houston, TX. This primarily shop-based role supports commercial and industrial equipment through the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of diesel and natural gas generator systems. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience with commercial power generation equipment.

Position Offers

• Up to $50/hr depending on experience. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions .

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel and natural gas generator systems and related equipment

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, load bank testing, and reliability assessments to ensure proper equipment operation

• Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, generator controls, engine systems, and electrical distribution components

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support diagnostics and repairs

• Support junior technicians with advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques while maintaining accurate service documentation and professional job sites

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial or industrial generator experience preferred; military power generation experience also considered

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on diesel and natural gas generator systems

• Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems including breakers, transformers, cabling, and relay settings

• Experience with generator controls, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and load bank testing
