TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology RN for travel assignments in radiation therapy centers, oncology departments, and hospitals. This role focuses on providing specialized oncology nursing care to patients undergoing radiation treatment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, symptom management, and emotional support.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, educate, and support patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments .
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and oncology teams to implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor and manage radiation side effects , including skin reactions, fatigue, and nausea.
  • Provide pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support for patients and families.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care as needed.
  • Educate patients about treatment expectations, self-care, and follow-up care .
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and patient care standards.
  • Document patient progress and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams .
  • Travel to various healthcare facilities based on assignment needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) .
  • Certification: Active RN license; BLS and ONS chemotherapy certification preferred .
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in oncology, radiation therapy, or cancer care .
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of radiation oncology treatments, patient education, and symptom management .
  • Travel Readiness: Willingness to accept travel assignments .
