Responsibilities
- Assess, educate, and support patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments .
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and oncology teams to implement treatment plans.
- Monitor and manage radiation side effects , including skin reactions, fatigue, and nausea.
- Provide pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support for patients and families.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care as needed.
- Educate patients about treatment expectations, self-care, and follow-up care .
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and patient care standards.
- Document patient progress and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams .
- Travel to various healthcare facilities based on assignment needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) .
- Certification: Active RN license; BLS and ONS chemotherapy certification preferred .
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in oncology, radiation therapy, or cancer care .
- Skills: Strong knowledge of radiation oncology treatments, patient education, and symptom management .
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to accept travel assignments .
