Position Overview

We are seeking a product-minded Frontend Software Engineer based in the United Kingdom to develop, scale, and secure new capabilities inside the Twilio Console platform. Working within a high-velocity SCRUM team, you will move far beyond basic web interfaces to own features from initial layout designs through to testing, deployment, and live monitoring. This track demands a developer who champions resilient code quality and values automated testing pipelines. You will take full ownership of your shipping pipelines, reduce technical debt, participate in production on-call rotations, and directly influence platform roadmap priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Console UI Development: Architect and build performant, highly responsive frontend application modules utilizing React and TypeScript .
  • Automated Test Engineering: Formulate and enforce thorough automated testing strategies, writing unit and integration tests via Playwright, Vitest, and Cypress systems.
  • CI/CD Workflow Management: Deploy software features continuously into cloud systems using automated pipelines, managing environments across Buildkite, GitHub, and Jira .
  • On-Call System Triage: Take clear ownership of production software health, resolving incidents, participating in standard on-call rotations, and leading root-cause analyses.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in backlog refinements, team code reviews, sprint planning sessions, and system design evaluations alongside Product leadership.
  • Platform Performance Optimization: Refactor codebase components systematically to reduce architectural code debt and ensure features comply with strict performance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of verified professional history running frontend development workflows and implementing complex user interfaces.
  • Deep technical mastery writing clean application structures in React and TypeScript environments.
  • Hands-on experience deploying automated testing solutions using frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Vitest .
  • Practical familiarity integrating frontend layers with backend services using **REST APIs or GraphQL** schemas.
  • Solid conceptual understanding of automated software verification, cloud continuous delivery pipelines, and secure engineering practices.
  • Proven capacity to independently triage, debug, and resolve runtime production data or application exceptions.
  • Location Context: 100% remote-first operational infrastructure flexibility restricted exclusively to qualified developers permanently based in the United Kingdom .

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior production exposure utilizing public cloud infrastructure systems, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) platforms.
  • Familiarity running data monitoring systems and dashboard observability tools such as DataDog and Grafana .
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical enterprise experience.
