Job Description

Overview:

The Seasonal Carpenter is responsible for performing carpentry work related to park maintenance, construction, and repair projects throughout Six Flags Darien Lake. This includes building, maintaining, and repairing park structures, attractions, and facilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and team members.
Responsibilities:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on wood, metal, and composite structures such as buildings, rides, stages, fences, and signs.
  • Install, maintain, and repair doors, windows, frames, flooring, trim, and other wooden fixtures.
  • Operate standard carpentry tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect existing park structures for damage or wear; recommend and execute proper repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine project scope and materials required.
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance departments (electrical, plumbing, paint, etc.) to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment following all OSHA and Six Flags safety standards.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner to reduce downtime of park facilities and attractions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior carpentry experience (framing, finishing, or construction) preferred.
  • Ability to work with lumber, hardware, and construction materials safely and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable working at various heights and occasionally in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
