Job Title: Repair Technician Job Description

As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for assessing and repairing electronic instruments received from the field. This role requires a blend of mechanical and electronics expertise, with a strong emphasis on mechanical skills. You will utilize a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnostics and repairs, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Receive instruments from the field, conduct intake procedures, document details, and take photos.
  • Review customer submissions and perform assessments for repair.
  • Disassemble instruments, troubleshoot issues (sometimes down to the component level), and determine pass/fail status.
  • Write detailed notes to communicate findings and repairs accomplished without direct customer interaction.
  • Utilize traditional and non-traditional tooling, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers, for testing electronic assemblies.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in a technical field, technical/vocational school diploma, or equivalent military training program.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in mechanical and electronics repair.
  • Knowledge of electronics principles and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics and write business reports.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills at a business level.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
  • Military or aerospace background is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with electronics.
  • Understanding of ESD and use of voltmeters.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform diagnostic testing.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment with a high mix, low volume production. Collaborate with a team of technicians and assemblers on both small and large products. The work shift is 1st from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dress code is casual, and you will have access to a variety of advanced tools and equipment for your work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
