The Personal Care Aide/CNA/GNA provides essential personal care and support services to clients in their homes, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), providing companionship, and observing and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the supervising nurse. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, dependable, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Assist with mobility and transfers, including ambulation, positioning, and safe use of assistive devices.
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with feeding if necessary.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to the client's immediate comfort and safety, such as tidying up, laundry, and dishwashing.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
Engage clients in meaningful activities and conversation.
Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as directed.
Observe and report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse in a timely manner.
Document services provided accurately and thoroughly according to agency policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the client.
Adhere to the client's care plan and follow instructions from the supervising nurse.
Maintain client confidentiality and respect their privacy and dignity.
Attend mandatory in-service training and meetings as required.
Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and agency staff.
Accompany clients to medical appointments and activities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Client Care Manager or RN Supervisor.
Positions may be filled in Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford, Howard, and Prince Georges Counties

Driver's License (required), valid automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
Previous experience in personal care or other related fields
Negative TB test
Ability to pass Maryland Criminal Background Check
MD State HS Diploma/GED
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
CMT (preferred)
