We are looking for a driven and tech-oriented IT Intern to support the configuration, upkeep, and troubleshooting of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems at Concession Stands during events held at Texas A&M University. This opportunity is well-suited for students majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines who are eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and customer-focused setting.

Responsibilities:

• Support the setup, configuration, and testing of POS hardware and software at concession locations.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for technical support to concession staff during events.
• Organize and maintain the conditions of the pos and cabling within concession stands.
• Actively monitor POS operations and address hardware or software issues promptly.
• Conduct routine maintenance, software updates, and troubleshoot connections for POS terminals, printers, and network systems.
• Assist with tracking, organizing, and documenting all POS equipment inventory.
• Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and help resolve advanced technical problems.
• Aid in training staff on basic POS usage and troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems including but not limited to : back office, PC, printers, tablets, networking, hardware inventory, hardware installation, time clocks, etc.
• Familiarity with Square, Mashgin, Micros, or any other point- of-sale system
• Display effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during events. Ability to work ALL Texas A&M Football games is required
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds
