Position Overview
Repair the World is seeking a highly skilled writer and project manager to serve as Director, Institutional Giving. This role leads the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and reports while managing the systems and processes that support Repair the World's institutional fundraising.
The Director, Institutional Giving serves as the organization's lead grant writer, responsible for mission-driven storytelling and institutional fundraising. Repair the World's institutional grant portfolio totals approximately $13M annually. This role translates Repair the World's programs, impact, and vision into compelling narratives for foundation partners while ensuring institutional supporters receive clear, timely communication about our work and impact.
In addition to overseeing the organization's grants infrastructure, the Director will supervise the Donor Communications Manager and help align donor storytelling across proposals, reports, and broader development communications. Working closely with colleagues across programs, finance, data, marketing, and development, this role ensures strong internal coordination and high-quality grant deliverables.
This full-time, exempt position reports to the Senior Director, Development, and supervises the Donor Communications Manager. The Director will be a member of Repair the World's seven-person Development team. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates living in or near a Repair community: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New York, NY; Orange County, CA; or San Francisco, CA.

Compensation at Repair the World is based on the salary band for the role and the cost of living for the location. The starting salary for this full-time, exempt role is $90,000 - $115,000, dependent on experience. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation, sick time, personal days, and holidays. Employer covers 100% of full-time employees' health premiums (medical/dental/vision) for most plans and 50% for dependents. Additional benefits include retirement matching, professional development funds, employer-paid short and long-term disability coverage, plus access to the Jewish Learning Collaborative ( and our Economic Access Fund. In addition, employees who have been with Repair for at least six months are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave (pro-rated for employees with Repair the World less than 6 months).
This position is not included in Repair the World's staff union-represented collective bargaining unit.
